Luxury interior design in Fort Lauderdale

Waterfront homes, oceanfront condominiums and full renovations, designed for the light, the water and the way you live.

Lacruz Design Studio designs luxury residences in Fort Lauderdale from our studio in Miami. Every project is led personally by Adriana Lacruz, NCIDQ, from the first conversation to the final installation, and the studio takes only six projects a year.

Why Fort Lauderdale homes need a different approach

Fort Lauderdale is a city built around water. Canals run behind thousands of homes, the Intracoastal and the ocean are never far away, and the light that comes off the water changes every room through the day. A luxury interior here has to be designed for that light, and for what salt air, humidity and sun do to materials over years, not months.

That shapes every specification we make. Natural stone is selected and sealed for humidity. Woods, metals and finishes are chosen for how they age near the water. Fabrics and rugs are chosen to hold their color in strong sun. The result should look as considered in ten years as it does on the day it is photographed.

Construction here also follows its own rules. Broward County sits within Florida's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, so windows, doors and other exterior openings must meet strict impact standards, and many homes sit inside gated communities or condominium associations that review renovation plans before work begins. We design around those requirements from the start, so they never arrive as a surprise halfway through a project.

Featured project: House 2241

The client is an art collector. His collection, built across years of international travel, moves between emerging talent and established names, and it was never going to hang on the walls as decoration. It was going to be the architecture of the home.

House 2241, at Villas at Positano in Fort Lauderdale, was a full gut renovation of a single-story home: every surface, every enclosure and every detail built from scratch. The design had to earn its place beside works by Turi Simeti, Chris Levine, Brett Murray, Blessing Ngobeni, Frances Goodman and Chris Soal, holding the art without competing with it.

The social spaces stay deliberately quiet so the collection can speak: warm neutrals, Storia wood flooring running unbroken from the entry to the master suite, and clean millwork by Armazem. The powder room is the one space that breaks the rule on purpose, with dark walls and a sculptural marble vanity. Outside, the pool, the pool deck and an outdoor sauna and shower extend the interior palette into Stephanie Coop's landscape, so the garden reads as a continuation of the house.

Art does not just decorate spaces. It defines them.

How a project works

  1. A first conversation. Every project begins with one question: what do you want to feel when you walk through the door?
  2. A site visit and the scope. Adriana walks the home with you, and together you define what changes and what stays.
  3. Design and drawings. Concept, materials and lighting, then construction-ready drawings coordinated with your architect and contractor.
  4. Procurement and construction. Furniture, stone and millwork are ordered early, and the studio is on site at the milestones that matter.
  5. Installation and styling. The final layer that makes a finished house feel inhabited.

Where we work in Fort Lauderdale

We take projects throughout Fort Lauderdale and Broward County: waterfront homes in neighborhoods such as Las Olas Isles, Harbor Beach and Rio Vista, estates in Coral Ridge, and oceanfront condominiums along the Galt Ocean Mile, among others.

The studio is also working on current projects in Hallandale Beach and Bal Harbour, and our completed residences in Sunny Isles Beach, including The Estates at Acqualina and Armani Residences, are a short drive south. See all of them in our residential projects, or read about every market we work in.

Questions about working with us in Fort Lauderdale

Do you work in Fort Lauderdale from Miami?

Yes. Fort Lauderdale is a short drive north of the studio, and Adriana is on site at every milestone that matters, from the first walkthrough to the final installation.

Do you design condominiums and homes in gated communities?

Yes. We prepare the drawings and documentation that association reviews require, and we plan approval time into the schedule from the beginning.

How do hurricane-code requirements affect the design?

They shape what can change at windows, doors and other exterior openings. We work with your architect and contractor so the design meets Broward County's requirements from the first drawing, rather than adapting to them later.

How long does a renovation take?

It depends on how much of the home is rebuilt. A full gut renovation like House 2241 takes considerably longer than a furnishing project. Read How Long Does a Luxury Home Renovation Take? for real project timelines.

Do you work in Spanish?

Yes. The studio works with clients in English and Spanish.
